This is the second year in a row that I've attended the Women of Faith conference in Rochester. Most of my time was taken up with travelling and the conference but there was time here and there to squeeze in some recreational meandering.
For the second year I went to the George Eastman House and this year I was really looking forward to it as the gallery was presenting an Ansel Adams exhibit. For any of you not aware of him he was probably the best known, if not the greatest, black and white photographer of all time. I have seen his work in books but to actually see so many of his photographs on display was truly a privilege. I stood there thinking that I could stand there all day looking at some of his works. You could almost get lost in those pictures. From what little experience I have with photographing images in black and white, it requires much greater attention to lighting. He most certainly mastered that. Here's a link to a website devoted to his work so you can see for yourself what I meant.
I also enjoyed walking around downtown Rochester. There's some amazing architecture there. At the begining of my post I included a photo of "The Wings of Progress" that are on top of the Timess Square building across from the arena where my conference was held.
